Gu Kaizhi was an erudite and versatile scholar, skilled in poetry and calligraphy, and especially good at painting. He was a master of portraits, Buddhism, animals, landscapes and so on. Gu Kaizhi's paintings were intended to convey the spirit, and his arguments such as "to move one's thoughts to a wonderful place" and "to write the spirit with the form" laid the foundation for the development of traditional Chinese painting.

Gu Kaizhi can be said to be my inspiration for religious painting. I can see many stories and distinctive character relationships in his works, and this is what I will strive for in the future.
